Abstract

This essay looks at the historical relationship between economic and religious freedom, applying its conclusions to the current Brazilian context. It finds that there is much yet to be done regarding the protection of economic freedom, which is one of the supports of religious freedom, especially in a context marked by increasing state interven-tion due to the coronavirus pandemic.
