Abstract

The essay seeks to demonstrate that the distinction between the Church and temporal power lies at the heart of Judeo-Christian Revelation, through a historical-philosophical analysis of political development in the West based on Christian Revelation and the elaboration by the Catholic Church of a relationship between the Church and the plural state in the context of a healthy secularity, as opposed to a secularist vision based on Enlightenment ideology.
