Hate speech is a complex and crucial issue in contemporary societies, influencing different areas such as political, religious and legal. This article offers a comprehensive analysis of the phenomenon, highlighting how hate is often used as a political tool to disqualify opponents and consolidate power, exacerbating social polarization and conflicts. The intense, negative language characteristic of hate speech not only dehumanizes the opponent, but also perpetuates cycles of animosity and verbal violence, with the potential to escalate to physical violence. The study addresses hate speech from three main perspectives: political, religious and legal. In political analysis, we examine how hatred is instrumentalized to manipulate masses and justify extreme actions. The religious perspective, based on the Bible, offers alternatives through narratives of love and forgiveness. Legally, the challenges and needs of regulating hate speech are discussed, balancing the containment of the spread of hate with the preservation of freedom of expression. The study uses theories of law, sociology and biblical interpretations, in addition to works such as “The Betrayal of Intellectuals” by Julien Benda and “Of Hatred” by Gabriel Liiceanu, to deepen the understanding of the topic. The article aims not only to identify the roots and manifestations of hate speech, but also to discuss strategies for its mitigation, including fostering a culture of dialogue, strengthening educational policies and implementing appropriate legal measures.
