Abstract

This article analyzes the contents of the Constitutional Challenge Brief (ADI) 2566 / DF, raising a multidisciplinary dialogue involving the (un)constitutionality of religious proselytism in community radio stations and the projection of religious freedom in Brazil. Religious proselytism, widespread in community radio stations in Brazil, remained on the agenda and was discussed in the jurisdictional activity of the Supreme Federal Court - STF from 2002 to 2018. The research utilized the hermeneu-tic-classical method. The study presents the legal and procedural context of the consti-tutional challenge, following the conclusive thesis by the majority of the collegiate body that voted and approved the unconstitutionality of the section of § 1 of article 4 of Law No. 9,612 of 1998, which prohibited proselytism of any nature in the programming of community broadcasters.
